Front gardens
Avoiding the car park look in the front garden.
Avoiding the 'car park look' in the front garden is a frequent problem. Designs need to accommodate parking required by the client and yet allow the front space to be seen and feel like a garden.
The first garden shows how by removing a struggling lawn, the front area now has plenty of parking space and is surrounded by a lavender hedge and year round planting.
Small terraced houses can also benefit from a make over. The front path of this London property was very uninviting and the new design used tiles appropriate to the period but with a contemporary twist to the pattern. Brick coping, pillars and terracotta containers all blend with the tile colouring, a modern twist on a traditional theme.
